Description:
The future of any nation depends on the positive utilization of its YOUTHS. Studies have disclosed that youths has been both the perpetrators and victims of wars around the world. There is an urgent need to direct attention to the proper utilization of our Youths by providing them the much needed attention, audience, counsel and support through and by various programmes and projects, so that they will be law-abiding, productive and self-reliant citizens. It was against this background that the Youth Empowerment for Development Ministries (YEDEM) was founded and established by dynamic and dedicated youths who have the conviction that upholding the truth and caring for the development of one another is very essential to promote national reconciliation, reintegration, resettlement, reconstruction and economic development.
Objectives:
* To enable the youths in Cameroon to come together in upholding the Truth, help them establish an active and meaningful relationship with God and their fellow man through counseling, teaching and caring for the development of one another. * To organise and promote youth programmes, activities, services and projects as may be deemed necessary to fulfill the purposes, functions and objectives set forth herein. * To help youths without basic or no education at all, acquire vocational and practical skills to make them self reliant and responsible. * To complement the efforts of the government, other NGOs and agencies in producing mature, disciplined and responsible youths. * To help the youths discover and utilize their God-given abilities. * To accept donations, contributions, to invest and reinvest any funds on hand, to use the income and proceeds thereof for the advancement of the purposes for which this Ministry is organised. * To establish, maintain and engage in any and lawful activities relative to the purposes for which this Ministry is organised.
