Scholarship Project for Uzbekistan youth

About  About
Title: Scholarship Project for Uzbekistan youth
Location:
Categories: Learning & Education

Status: In Planning
Timeline: Ongoing

Description:
Global Uzbek Council is proud to present “The GUC Scholarship Project ” and is calling for your
contributions. Prior to providing an explanation to the project guidelines we felt it was important to
share with you brief description of the project:

"GUC Scholarship Project" mission is to assist school pupils from Uzbekistan and GUC members to obtain scholarships and grants in their journey to academic and career success. The project's success will heavily depend upon your efforts to share own successful expertise and valuable knowledge about scholarship opportunities available overseas for promising Uzbek students.

Background:
The project is being developed within the Global Uzbek Council, non for profit organisation of young Uzbekistani professionals united for the benefit of Uzbekistan.

Objectives:
The purpose of the project:

1) To coordinate and accumulate available sources of scholarships and grants throughout GUC members and beyond under the project and post a list of scholarships on the GUC web-site and GUC Times.
2) To prepare recommendations and advice for successful submission and passing.
3) To share members' experiences and success stories about scholarship and grant awards to inspire young students and pupils.
4) To locate and provide links to helpful websites about scholarships and grants.

Since the project has two target audiences – GUC members and school pupils – there are two kinds of information we intend to obtain and disseminate with your help:

1) The information for GUC members will include mainly secondary sources on educational opportunities, which means that the members are invited to provide already existing information on grants, scholarships, conferences, etc.
2) The information for pupils will include both primary and secondary resources. By primary resources we imply your own success stories, essays, tips, advice, recommendations that would inspire and prepare pupils for applying to foreign academic institutions.
Secondary sources may include information about grants and scholarships for school exchange programs, undergraduate and graduate degree programs, summer schools, international conferences, and any other relevant information.

To involve children to our project we would propose GUC members to contact their former schools; if you reside outside of Uzbekistan, you may contact your former school, tutors or language centers attended with help of your parents or friends/old classmates to deliver/share resources available through the project. There are the following ways of shareing resources on educational possibilities with children: through sending information to the emails of children collected with your help or through the direct delivery of hard copies of informational letters to schools. Please, also share your ideas on how to involve beneficiaries in our network.

Keep in mind that although the pupils are our target audience it does not mean that they will become GUC members. Their benefits are limited to receiving a newsletter composed of information about scholarship opportunities overseas and possibility to ask GUC members' for feedback.
