The Society for Peoples Education, Empowerment and Development Trust called Speed Trust is a voluntary partner involved in development activities for socio-economic development and community empowerment of disadvantaged, marginalized and the poor, especially for women, adolescent girls and children, in the southern coastal part of Bangladesh. It is emerged in 1999 in Barisal city with a view to organize policy advocacy and open dialogues of different stakeholders on the present burning issues

The social workers involved with the establishment of Shariatpur Development Society (SDS) had a long experience in extending relief and rehabilitation activities in me event of natural disaster in the starting area of the lower Meghna and the last part of the river Padma. According to the Poverty Map of the WFP, the working area of SDS treated as poverty zone and also its food deficiency area according to me Department of Agriculture Extension.
