Description:
Uganda SPACE is Uganda science publishers and community Elevation organisation. It is a charity project aimed at alleviating illiteracy and poverty levels in Ugandan communities. It offers science publishing services, voluntary teaching services to ugandan students and schools. It also provides loans to parents with small businesses.
Background:
Uganda SPACE was found in 2007 by six science students of Makerere University, in Uganda. They started with writing science text books and reading materials, then taking them to publishing comapanies. After completing, their first biology manuscript which took long to be published, they decided to form their own organisation and incuded community elevation organisation hence the name Uganda SPACE.
Objectives:
1.1To publish and distribute educational Science text books to poor students and third world schools in Uganda at a minimal or no cost.
1.2 To conduct voluntary Science teaching services in third world schools.
1.3 2.3To conduct research, seminars and monthly examinations to assess the academic achievements of poor students and third world schools.
1.4 To promote Information computer technology by providing the poor students and third world schools with computers and internet at a minimal or no cost.
1.5 To provide loans with minimal interest rates to low-income earning parents with small business ventures.
1.6 To effectively use Volunteers as the major factor in raising the standards of Ugandan communities
Milestones:
1.To improve the education sector of Uganda by providing academic science materials and services.
2. To alleviate poverty among the less privileged urban, rural and grass root community in Uganda.
3. To effectively use Volunteers as a major factor in Elevation of community activities.
