Hello Team,
We are growing everyday and I thought it would be good for us all to do an icebreaker so we can get to know where everyone is coming from experience-wise.
I will start!
My name is Lisa Campbell and I am an Independent Studies Student at the University of Waterloo. I have had a very unique relationship with education, having attended many different alternative schools, educational conferences, and workshops over the last twenty-years of my life.
I am interested in...
-using games/art/theatre in the classroom because I think learning isn't confined to textbooks and copying from the blackboard.
-students teaching eachother about what they're into!
-education which encourages students to take action on the issues they feel passionate about
-global/humanrights/sustainable education philosophies and practice
-working with students/youth so that we can share skills and knowledge to transform this world into a positive place for everyone to live
-learning from everyone on this project team!
-hearing why you joined the TIGed project and what you have to bring to it

My name is Wong Kim yuan and I am a teacher and also involve in an IT project for the High School Language Society in Malaysia. I am interesting in doing this project and try my best to contribute as much as I can.
I am interested in
- using animation to present the content of school curiculum.
- Guide and teach them to play volleyball as a coach.
- Doing marketing job, promote and organize event.
- working with students/youth, teach them and shom the about IT and computer skill.
- Creating web site for school student and let them handle and organize their activities.

hello
I am Anu from mumbai, India. I am doing my post graduation in English Literature and language from the University of Mumbai.I have studied all over india in different kinds of schools (private and public, residential and non residential etc). I hope to share my experiences and feedbacks with other members of this project and evolve teaching methods which make learning a joy and teaching a pleasure.
I am interested in;
- encouraging co-operative learning in class to foster social interaction and to prevent negative competition,
- encouraging students to work in groups to explain various concepts with the help of technology ( power-point presentation etc),
- getting students to openly discuss the relevance of any text in the present scenario,
- developing audio/visual aids to discuss concepts,
- using education to sensitise the children about various issues and problems in the society
- employing and encouraging story telling as a way to explain ideas as it gets the attention of students very quickly
- encouraging students themselves to take on the mantle of the teacher after every session to instill confidence in them,
- encouraging students to organize any event by themselves,
- making courses like the 'Basic Course in the Art of Living' compulsory to provide a wholistic curriculum to the students,
- encouraging open book exams in the class.,
