Dear Members!
We here in Sri Lanka have always wanted to make a strong organisation on behalf of youth dealing with many of the issues in our country.We have always wanted to be independent unit, non political, non governmental.
As the first step we wanted to meet many people in the media TV, Radio, or Newspaper and get them to publish educative articles, or programmes for the youth of Sri Lanka, asking them to understand the true beat of the heart of the Sri lankan youth. We have been having couple of meetings with TV people, like YATV as well.We are also planning to meet up with some youth who have good ability to express themselves and get them to express many views about different issues of the youth, to papers and programmes.
We also need to establish "Student Support Units" for the Sri Lankan schools, which can advice students on their education and employement, and their future. For these teachers are the best as they know where students abilities lie, in and out.We can ask the teachers to introduce the life stories of the most successful students around, how they have acheieved what they have untill now, have open discussions on the value of love,and life and make it a part of the battle against suicide.
Please share with us any of your ideas regarding all the above, any actions to be added or any plans you feel better to make it a success!
