the PYPLG is a lobby group that encourages youth participation Youth participation and involvement in national and regional interests. This group is a lobby group and is not a registered group that may require registration and fees. We accept that many of our members are of different opinions and ideas and respect conflicting views as a show of the diverse peoples that make up the pacific islands.
The main ambition of this group is to successful organize a youth parliament.
Background:
This project has been the vision of Stanley Simpson and was relayed to the current coordinator by Stanley.
The idea and purpose of the lobby group was birthed at the Oxfam organized International Youth Parliament.
The main purpose of the group was to get young people already involved in NGOs all over the pacific. By having them involved with the PYPLG we could receive consensus on where the parliament is going as a vision and how it is received by governments and what the main aim of the parliament should be – or the most likely outcome.
Objectives:
To organize a youth parliament for all pacific youth involved already in NGO work.
After the parliament to publish and release a dossier or report on the youth of the pacific and the views of these young adults.
At the moment to gather reports or statements from its members and release them and advocate a move for our leaders for change.
Milestones:
The release of two statements that have been very instrumental in youth involvement and participation and that has been well received by many NGO’s and some other social groups.

The main mode of communication between PYPLG members is by email. We need a personal computer and internet connection. We are seeking funding for a office space in suva.
