Description:
DataPerfect Digital Engines - an Open Source Curriculum - is a the primary engine of development of a global Information Ecology framework designed to house a Interactive, Participatory Universal Digital Memory.
in developing a set of curriculum and learning resources for the use of DataPerfect:
* The most brilliant, elegant, versatile, robust relational database that has ever been created;
* Can be freely downloaded
* Effortless installation and operation on a local area network
* Readily programmable to generate multiple sets of interlinked web pages, in clear and consistent format.
* Existence of a very supportive DataPerfect User Group that generally generates quick and helpful responses to anyone who asks for help.
* Macintosh version on its way - beta test by Fall 2003?
* Firestorm - DataPerfect-compatible web -server
Objectives:
Development of a comprehensive curriculum in DataPerfect and related software with particular focus on its power as a digital engine to generate web sites.
The curriculum also - including web forms, CGI & Perl scripts, and in Firestorm and initially generated by a DataPefect Digital Engine.
* Global dissemination of the curriculum in a variety of open source, copyright and copyleft protected formats.
* Cultivate a network of dedicated young people who can play a vital role in the development and implementation of open source database templates for almost any conceivable sets of information
Needs:
* A group of young people with an interest in the development of versatile database-generated web sites and digital information engines.
* A handful of experienced Dataperfect developers who are willing to share some of their knowledge and appreciation of the wonders of DataPerfect
