the contest which is now an annual event for the National Association of Youth in Agriculture, was held on March 17, 2006, the second one. Six schools participated and a third round (cultural presentation) was added to give more scope for youth participation. The contest was won by the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School with the Dominica Community High School winning Best Cultural Presentation. Plans are already on the way to develop the 3rd annual contest

the contest was successfully held, and the Dominica Grammar School emerged the winner and the Dominica Community High School getting a prize for best impromptu speech.

the contest is now rescheduled for the 25 Febraury 2004, we(NAYA) have sucessfully gotten private sector support for the event, even political support as we are entering the election period in Dominica. we are still looking for judges for our panel and social subject questions for the impromptu part of the elocution contest, we are also planning to make this even a yearly one and to include others as well to make it a truly scholastic event.

the contest has been postponed due to lack of private sector support for the event, it will now be held in the last week of January and hopefully by that time NAYA will be able to generate the support that an educational event like this deserves
