Description:
The project is being implemented as a contest among Secondary Schools on the island of Dominica. It is a elocution/public speaking contest designed to focus on agricultural concerns.
Objectives:
The main objective of this contest is to afford students the opportunity to exercise their public speaking skills in the English Language and also emphasize areas of interest and concern within the agriculture industry.
Needs:
There are a number of topic areas that were proposed for participants such as conventional vs organic agriculture, agriculture and tourism, Genetic Modified Foods, WTO agreement on Agriculture and the Caribbean Single Market and Economy however more topic areas are needed for the impromptu round of the competition which is designed to focus on world issues but not limited to Agriculture.
