Description:
TakingITGlobal has just formed a partnership with the United Nations Millennium Campaign
to engage young people worldwide in the UN's Millennium Campaign to eliminate extreme global poverty by 2015 (the so called "Millennium Development Goals", MDGs). This is the project plattform for Western Europe.
Objectives:
(1) build up a network of young activists in Western Europe engaged in MDGs
(2) solicit existing activities in Western Europe dealing with MDGs and sway organizations and activists to launch new activities
(3) in general, raise awarness for MDGs, in particular amongst youth
(4) lobby governments (Germany, Italy, France and Spain, in particular) to act!
Needs:
We need young people from all over Westen Europe who already are or want to become active for MDGs and the struggle against poverty! People, who do raise awarness at home, who make projects for fair trade etc. at home, who are good in respect of content of globalization and poverty, who have concacts to local/national/international NGOs involved in MDGs, etc. etc. It is up to everyone to participate!!!
