Description:
This School is an educational project of Youth of JAZAS; which is for the tenth time taking place in Serbia and Montenegro. In earlier years, the principal idea of ISSSA was to teach young people preventive work in the HIV/AIDS area. Since almost every country in Europe and worldwide has in some form peer education programs, our principal aim is empowerment of young people to create, implement and evaluate peer education programs in their own communities and to expand to a network of youth organizations having or developing peer education programs for young people focused on HIV/AIDS and Sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Objectives:
- Provide, young people working in Peer education, basic skills in lobbying, advocacy and management in order to improve their work.
- Promote peer education in addressing different target groups of young people, especially vulnerable groups (Roma, MSM, IDU etc.).
- Promote gender sensitive peer education methods in order for better involvement of young girls and women.
- Expansion of a network of youth and youth intended organizations having or developing peer education programs for young people focused on Sexual and reproductive health and rights including HIV/AIDS.
- Enhance cooperation between young people from Western Europe and South Eastern Europe and developing countries.
- Exchange experiences and knowledge among the participants regarding subjects covered.
