I am starting this discussion page to discuss strategies that can be adopted to bettter persue a strong inclusion of the Indigenous youth voice at the UN permanent forum on Indigenous Issues.
Please share your suggestions, questions or concerns so that we can continue to share across boundaries and cultures.

If effectively utilised, indiginous knowledge can be the pathway towards global development.Young people had a lot to share with regard to this. From all dimension of their life, indiginous knowledge can and could be one of the most significant way for them to alleviate poverty. The problem the had is that the might not be in the position to realise and even understand what exactly indigionous knowledge is all about and how it can be utilised to better their life.I second this forum as it focus and map the way forwad on the "HOW" young people can transform their life.

Hi All,
I trust everyone has now returned safely to their respective homelands.
As I missed the last 3 days of the forum I would love to hear an update on how the second youth statement went and whether there was any progression as to formal discussions with UN official bodies that would be supportive of a youth working group body to sustain the youth caucus.
Thanks to all those who have worked hard on setting this group up and those that gave their time and energy during the Forum.
Mauriora,
Kiritapu.

Hey Kiritapu,
There were a few mixs up on the last few days and a lot of scrambling. I have yet to get my hands on a copy of the last statement submitted.
I have been travelling and working a lot since I have been back, but have tried to maintain contact with my key contacts at the government level. I was give word that Allan Torbitt, Head of the Canadian Delegation, advises that the Indigenous Youth Caucus recommendations were delivered to the Permanent Forum. We now await word on how the recommendations were used and whether the Permanent Forum members created a resolution in support of the recommendations.
Once I have a copy of the last statement I will upload it to the page. I am also in communication with Christopher D. Malano, Pax Romana NGO Representative, who was working with two other youth delegates to try and bring order to the youth group. I hope that with the added efforts of everyone that things will move forward.
In addition, I have just recently been forwarded a UN youth survey, that I believe is going to be forwarded to all those that attended. I would encourage everyone to respond as this might be the added push we need to becoming more involved.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me at eriel@clc.takingitglobal.org .
