Description:
GKP Youth Fellowship Program is a component of the Global Knowledge Partnership Youth Program that focuses on building capacity among young people and empowering them to be learners, developers and entrepreneurs. The initiatives under the GKP Youth Program are based on the "Youth Creating Digital Opportunities" (*YCDO) framework; a strategic framework aimed at realizing the potential of young people as leaders in using information and communications technologies (ICTs) to achieve sustainable development in their communities and around the world.
Objectives:
GKP recognises the capacity of its member organisations to contribute to the process of developing youth as champions for the cause shared by the Partnership. Through the GKP Youth Fellowship Program, member organisations that fulfil the profile of GKP Youth Fellowship Hosting Organization will participate by jointly investing efforts and resources in hosting youth on a capacity building programme.
The objectives of the GKP Youth Fellowship Program are: to develop and enhance opportunities to engage youth in capacity building programs, matching them with activities undertaken by GKP member organizations; and to contribute to GKP member organizations by providing them with access to ideas and perspectives being developed by young leaders in ICT4D.
WHEREAS GKP is desirous of realizing the potential of young people as leaders in using information and communications technologies (ICTs) to achieve more sustainable development in GKP members’ communities and around the world through the GKP Youth Fellowship Program.
