We are now finalising our funding proposal to UN Millennium Campaign.

Meanwhile, forming the team for the local secretariat in Singapore! Are you keen to join the team? Email projects@shoutsingapore.org if you are interested in any of the roles laid out in "AYLF Work Plan"

Massive developments! In order to prepare a more secure strategy for the adoption of the framework document on MDG youth engagement in ASEAN, we are pegging the ASEAN Youth Leadership Forum not to 5th AMMY, but 13th ASEAN Summit instead!

This moves the event to Nov 3-4, and also allow for stronger funding and partners to come on board.

Note that there will be a more comprehensive follow-up e-consultation to the preliminary one recently concluded.

Watch this space!

Big developments!

1. WORLD BANK. The Bank is our first Strategic Partner: which translates to being able to use their name and logo, and possibly get a speaker for the forum.

2. UN AGENCIES. We are currently discussing this forum with the Asian offices of UNDP, UNFPA, UNMC. A co-share funding proposal is on the table, but nothing on this side yet. Watch this space.

3. CAYC. We approached them to be co-organisers for the forum. They have responded, seem interested, and we are now discussing TOR.

4. SINGAPORE MISION TO UN. Spoke with them with the specific request for informal support in approaching our National Youth Council to work together. Trying not to hold our breath. Cross your fingers for us.

5. RODOLFO SEVERINO. Former ASEAN Sec-Gen. Spoke to him while he was in SG to speak on regionalisation. Have approached him in quite upfront manner for his support for this initiative. Documents sent. Follow-up sent. Fingers crossed.

6. E-CONSULTATIONS. This is the pre-forum prep process, which has started. We will be putting out summaries, which will inform the 1st preliminary draft of the framework document for ASEAN youth engagement in MDGs. Style of the e-consultations inspired by recent UNFPA-WB one on youth & PRSPs moderated by Charlotte Juul Hansen. (But more particular to SE Asia.) The draft will then be developed online collaboratively.

7. SPEAKERS! We have got our 1st keynote Ibu Erna, Special Ambassador for MDGs in Asia-Pacific. We have also got our 2nd keynote Leng Lim, from Southeast Asian Service Leadership Network. We are now sorting out schedules.

Slowly but surely we are coming together!! Do your part now by posting your e-consultation responses for Set Two questions here: http://groups.takingitglobal.org/youth4asean/messages/?view=msg&id=143139
