i totally agree with u "fearmaker". we share the acts of eating, drinking and getting married with the animals. in my article "reflections on development" i touched upon this issue and made a distinction between "living" and "existing". we exist if we do no more than the basic acts that would make us survive (exactly like the animals.) we live, if we do these same acts but to achieve a higher aim and to leave a trace behind us when we die. i personally believe that if everyone exists to live, this world will turn into a world of innovation and creativity where the animal-like people will have no place on earth.i just want to pose a question: how many arab youths live and die without leaving any trace behind them? now i think i know why we are among the third world countries. no surprise, it is just the logical result of not living life to the full and not employing our minds (the thing which distinguishes us from other creatures) in something useful.
