Exactly as tazzo said. The youth role has been marginliazed for so long- I do not know if this also true in the west, but do not think so. And they got used for the stereotypical image of "The Rushy Youth, The Wise Old People", do not know why would not those who consider "rushy", would consider it in terms of "young enthusiasm", or "new blood".. They would not , would they? It is too risky for them to share the decision-making -- the most important- with young creative and able future leaders, the majority of those elderly- let me say almost all of them- will be unable to cope up with the young, and so let's put them down.
Hence, the youth have become more and more indifferent and reluctant saying "Will it really matter, they would not listen to us".. leading us to an atmosphere of "passivity", that lives for years to come, as it has just become part and parcel of the character itself. So, the circle goes on and on.

i agree with u, abd el-Rahman. however, i would not lay the whole blame on the youths. i would say that one of the main reasons why youths don't contribute to the development of their countries is that they are brought up to be passive. it is engrained in us not to participate in any critical decision-making. see how parents treat their children. it is tyrannical. look how undemocratic our schools and how oppressive our universisties are. in these three institutions there is only one point of view that is not to be questioned. ofcourse it is the parent's or the teachers' opinion. the child is just to listen and obey. how could he then be an active citizen?

YES.
you got the point and i think thets our dangerous role in our society to wake these youth up to encourage them to be posotive to be interacting with their society .
and its not easy goal becouse as you said they are brought up just like that .
but i beleave that any one wants to be successful and insist in that he will arrive but he needs to bo pationt becous the cultural mouvement in any society is salw by nature so all the youth : KEEP TRYING
thanks

i think that this issue is some kind different.
it is more than that he youth are depressed saying they wont hear us, or that the old people is dominating the society .
look at our youth , look at them in the streets in the universty in schools, all what concerns them is their apperance their girl/boy freinds .
for the sake of god who dare to give rsponsability to such youth (i talk here about the majority) how much of those youth have capacity to be responsable for (even ) himself not his society .
on aprogramm at tv.i heard on of the youth saies that the youth at the past had a national issue to strugel for like the oqupation ...but now -he said -there is no such issue.over.
i think that its too dangerous thinking the youth now has no aim or target they are no longer ambitious .
its the problem of the youth not the elder and its realy our hard duty to change thate thinking to explian our national crises to help the youth to tack over their important responsabilities so that we are here & i hope to succes tto do that
thanks
i hope an answer

who cares simple strightr answer. sry for the fact but from my view i guess that the youth now adyas simply dont care about the country cause he choose to live the destny as if its made to be so he simply thinks of other escaping allterntavies it either he is askping to the outside or to the inside keep his brain out of his mind so do u thhink that he cares well if he is not tought to be responsible of him self dont blame him being lazy to care abt his socitey
