Description:
Alexandria International Model United Nations is the first UN simulation to be held in Alexandria. The model is a student-to-student activity run by the youth members of an Egyptian non-governmental organization, Sustainable Development Association (SDA). The model has chosen for this year the main theme of “Re-evaluation of the MENA performance towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Countries” and the sub-theme of “Political Participation” and “Good Governance”. The chosen delegates are to be trained during one month and a half period on covering the model themes, learning how to debate and negotiate, and finally coming together to set a frame for the MENA countries to achieve the MDGs. Objectives:
1- Introducing Alexandrian students to the experience of UN model.
2- Raising youth awareness about development issues as well as the UN Millennium Declaration as well as the Millennium Development Goals.
3- Assisting youth to develop their communication, negotiations and presentation skills.
