starting a recycling computers project

Good afternoon,
Pardon me if this has already been a topic of discussion but I had the idea of starting a mini-project to recycle computers and send them to the places that we support.
I am aware that there are many organizastions that currently recycle and distribute computers; so if we were able to work with these places to find them used computers for recycling than we could also have them distributed to places were we can continue to encourage IT education.
If this sounds like a good idea and anyone would like to get involved reply to this post and we can all start brainstorming!
