Description:
YES Burundi is a national coalition of different stakeholders, namely Youth Associations, local and foreign NGOs, UN agencies, Government, Parliament, Religious confessions, Universities, Vocational Training Centers and any individual/groups committed to work for promoting the Youth Employment in Burundi and worldwide so youth can be empowered to create and/or improve their livelihoods.
Background:
Youth Actions for Development " YAD " is a not for profit NGO, registered # Acte n° M/1186/2003 hosted YES Country network working for marginalized young people in the age group between 6 and 40.It has been working for promoting youths since 2000..Its target groups include young people (both girls and boys) disadvantaged by lack of Education, Professional training, Employment and those infected by HIV/AIDS. Our achievement so far: 25 vulnerable young girls, victms of HIV/AIDS and wars have been provided with sewing and embroidery skills for self-employment creation; 53 orphans of wars and HIV/AIDS have been provided with basic needs supplies (food, clothing, scholar kits, and so on); YAD has also been involved into the implentation of the GYSD program in the country. At least 3,809 young people attended and partcipated in the celebrations of the Global Youth Service Day 2003-04, etc.
Objectives:
To promote emeployment in five sectors:Energy,Rural development, ICT, HIV/AIDS, Water and sanitation and Global youth service day.
