Description:
The YES Country Network in Australia is a collaboration of individuals and organisations across all sectors working to provide follow up action from the Youth Employment Summit as part of the Decade Campaign of Action for Youth Employment launched in Alexandria in September 2002.

The YES-Australia network is collaborating with other Young australians who attended the APEC Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs Forum on Socially Responsible Business. Together they are working to create new structures, networks, organisations and projects to support youth enterprise and sustainability in Australia.
One of these new initiatives, the Enterprise Network for Young Australians (ENYA), is being supported by the Australian government and was officially launched in 2003 at the Creating Common Wealth event.
Areas of interest include entrepreneurship, business for social responsibility, triple bottom line business practices, social and environmental venture development, equity, education, employment creation, empowerment ... achieving a sustainable Australia (and world!) ...

AS PART OF THE YES DECADE CAMPAIGN OF ACTION AND FOLLOW UP TO THE APEC YOUNG LEADERS AND ENTREPRENEURS CONFERENCE IN MEXICO

See the website of the Enterprise Network for Young Australians. ENYA is a new body that promotes the active participation of young people in enterprise, in an ethical and sustainable manner.
(1) Continue the creation ofan online resource and knowledge portal for Australian youth livelihood creation at this website and convert to a more user friendly website
(2) Convene workshops and organise meetings about youth employment and enterprise issues consistent with the outcomes of the YES Alexandria and APEC Mexico Summits and gain commitment to and involvement in a national agenda for youth entrepreneurship development and employment creation with the context of achieving a sustainable Australia (working through local people where possible)
(3) Identify and attend appropriate public forums to speak about and run workshops on a national agenda of youth enterprise development and employment creation for a sustainable Australia (using local people where possible)
(4) Develop Youth Livelihoods projects, or add value to existing ones, that contribute to the goals set out in the YES Decade Campaign of Action and the Alexandria and Mexico Summit outcomes
(5) Further build a network of youth, community, business and government leaders and representatives committed to enhancing youth enterprise, employment and livelihoods outcomes in Australia
(6) Australian media attention and coverage of youth entrepreneurship and employment issues
(7) Coordinate a delegation of Australians to YES Mexico in October 2004 - including members of YES-Australia and relevant business and government representatives
Needs:
Cameron Neil and the International Young Professionals Foundation have received $5000 from the Australian Commission for UNESCO and $13000 from the Foundation for Young Australians to provide resources towards achieving the above goals.
YES-Australia requires members (individuals and organisations) who can:
(a) assist with convening events in capital cities and regional centres, i.e. provide time, space, in-kind resources, access to networks, etc.
(b) lobby and meet with government, business and community leaders on YES outcomes, the Decade Campaign of Action in Australia, and attending YES Mexico
(c) speak at targeted and relevant public forums on YES outcomes, the Decade Campaign of Action in Australia
(d) provide access to media in Australia
