Description:
Urban Camping International's first pilot project will involve youth from Toronto's innercity communities travelling to Jakarta, Indonesia to connect with street youth and NGO's to collaborate on musical project and undertake activities that will explore the struggles of each community in thier daily life.
Objectives:
The goals of this project are to bring together groups of ethnically and culturally diverse youth in order for them to learn, share and exchange ideas and grow their communities internationally.
They will undertake a variety of small scale projects related to the issues most relevant to those involved.
They will also undertake musical collaborations that will help to establish ties between Canada and Indonesia.
Needs:
We are looking for youth organizations in Jakarta and NGO'S in Indonesia who can help gather a group of youth who are interested and/or involved in music and who would make good participants for this project.
We are also looking for businesses to get involved. Primarily a recording studio that is willing to donate time to the youth to undertake a musical collaboration.
Most importantly we need someone in Jakarta who can help to coordinate things.
