Background:
In celebration of the 800th anniversary of the legacy of Sufi Mystic , Poet and Scholar Mevlana Jelalludin Rumi- UNESCO has named 2007 International Year of Rumi.
Celebrations will take place in the countries where Rumi lived and died - Afghanistan, Persia (Iran) and Turkey, as well as world wide.
Objectives:
• To celebrate the UNESCO 2007-800th anniversary of Rumi in Afghanistan
• To provide awareness about the live and value of Rumi books
• To bring together youth in Afghanistan in anniversary of Rumi
• To Screen films, and presentations about the value and life Rumi
• To invite speakers from the Kabul University, Gov of Afghanistan, United Nations and International NGO’s for the celebration of 800th anniversary of Rumi
