Description:
The centre CAITI in its efforts to help in the democratization of tools ICT in Haiti set up the POE program (Computers Program for Schools), to be able to get back the old-fashioned or not used computers and recondition them to distribute them to the elementary and secondary schools in Haiti. This program aims not only at giving children the ICT, but also at protecting our environment of the toxic waste resulting from computers.
Objectives:
During the last national forum on the information society, the young people were of opinion which the children from primary classes should begin by using the tools of information technologies (ICT), but knowing that the computer materials are expensive, the question was how to help schools to get itself, at a lower cost, these materials.
Computer program for schools aims to make access to ICT a reality in HAITI.
